2009 MPNF Presentation Night
The 2009 Presentation night proved to be a very rewarding evening for YCW taking out 8 big Awards but failing to impress the Umpires in our 3 main Teams, 2 of whom topped the ladder at the end of the H &As and 1 finishing 3rd ??
First to take home some silverware was Andrew Hodge who won the MPNFL Under 18 Colts Best & Fairest with 9 votes from Alex Hutchinson and Nick Barry on 6.

Award winners Andrew Hodge, Michael Chaplin and Jake Dunn
Known before the night, but no less welcome were the `Order of the Boot Awards` for our leading goal-kickers ( from left)who took out the Leagues Award for the MPNFL Peninsula Under 18 Colts in Andrew Hodge with 49 goals, the MPNFL Peninsula Reserves with Michael Chaplin and his 51 goals and the Peninsula MPNFL Under 18s with Jake Dunn and his 56 goals. Well done boys…yet another Club First !!
Jake Dunn trys some Baby Cham from his trophy at Table 11.

Ben Hackett, Andrew Kiely and Tony Lester selected in the Leagues 2009 Team of The Year
Another good year for YCW with 3 of our boys selected in the MPNFL Peninsula Team of the Year. Andrew Kiely was selected at Full Back for the 2nd Year in a row as was Ben Hackett in the Forward Pocket. Tony Lester was also selected on the HBF a position I know he could play in if he ever does ?? The Team by the way was:

HB Williams (MtEliza) Dunn (Karingal) Lester (YCW)

YCW Secretary Dave Leary received the Club Award on behalf of YCW
Another win for the night was the Leagues Club Award for the Most Disciplined Club of 2009 determined I believe by the Umpys !!
With regard to the B&F count we didn’t have much luck…. N Gillies from Mornington winning the Under 18s with 22 votes from Simpson of Mt Eliza on 20 with Andy Knight 4th on 18 votes . In the Reserves Lucas from Eady Asp won with 18 votes, our closest being Groves and Tails both on 11 votes, Tails by the way only fronting for 10 games !!!!
The Seniors were again a one horse race with Chris Irving sweeping all before him to win the Senior B&F with 29 votes with our own Benny Tellis finishing 7th with 12 votes. Interestingly we scored zero votes in 5 games…..No one loves us !
