YCW at the Stonecave vs Bonbeach 8th May, Weather Glorious- Good to be a Stonecat !!

Firstly Andrew

For all those who haven’t heard Andrew was brought out of his coma last week and is now well on the way to recovery. He no longer needs an operation on his pelvis as it has reset itself naturally and he is conversing normally and has full comprehension, which condition has been the main concern for everyone involved in his recovery.

Andrew will be able to see visitors from this Friday, and hopefully will be back on the track in the not too distant future.. I think I speak for all in giving thanks for his recovery from what were life threatening injuries..Its been a timely warning to us all…. drive carefully, non of us are immortal !!..

Latest on Andrew….. He will be having an operation Tuesday morning to repair his broken pelvis after which and depending on his condition the Doctors will begin to gradually take him out of the induced coma..more updates tomorrow !!

UPDATE

Andrews operation has been postponed this morning (Tues 10 am) due to a rise in his temperature and his medication has also been increased to help reduce some further swelling of his brain. The operation is now rescheduled to Wednesday. Further updates as they come to hand…

Stonecats Run Over the Tigers To Win Going Away !!!

Posted on: July 1st, 2010 by Rocky No Comments

One of our best wins ever against Seaford on Saturday was marred by a car accident in the early hours of Sunday morning  in which our courageous and hard hitting onballer/wingman Andrew Knight was seriously injured. Andrew just up from the under 18s and playing his first senior game had impressed everyone with his preseason form and work ethic and was considered to be a certainty to cement a permanent spot in our side with the form he showed on Saturday.

He was involved in a single vehicle collision at corner of Nepean Hwy and Gould St about 3.10am Sunday.  He was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital with very serious injuries and as of about 4pm on Sunday afternoon was in a critical but stable condition.

Everyone at the club wishes Andrew a speedy and complete recovery from this trauma and our thoughts and prayers go out to Andrew and his family at this time.

UPDATE MONDAY 11AM

As of this morning Andrew is still in a critical condition but is stable.  The family have requested that nobody visits the hospital until further notice.   Bugs is receiving updates regularly.  He will address players this evening.  All queries can be directed to Bugs, Sean or Coey

On a personal note my favorite player to fotograph over the last 3 years has been Andrew as he always displays that sheer aggression and courage in his football that makes this game what it is… for me anyway !!. This Foto from Saturdays match says it all !!!

The days event started of with a narrow 3 pt loss for the Unders and Coach Reidy in his first game at the helm after leading for most of the game and just getting over run in the dying moments of the game.

The Magoos suffered the same fate going down to the Seaford machine by 3 pts in a closer rerun of last years grand final when Seaford easily defeated us by 15 pts. Leading at 3/4 time Seaford accuracy told in the last minutes of the game . Great to see senior contenders in Mizzi, Jesse, Bods, Trent and Zannon put in good ones.
