8th August At The Avairy-Weather Freezing And Going From Bad to Worst
Ducky was the backbone of the YCW defence that was under pressure from the get go !!
The Juniors and the Reserve games against Chelsea went according to plan with Mather`s Maulers winning convincingly 15.10.100 to 7.5.47 and Schneider`s Super Seconds putting away the Cellar Dweller Chelsea Magoo`s 11.11.77 to 8.8.56 after a bit of a tussle then the proverbial hit the fan !!
Ducky in the thick of things again, pulling in one of the few kick ins to make the 50m line
Chelsea on = 8th place with an % of 90 shouldn`t have proved much of a match for a 3rd placed team sitting on 140 % but that`s not the way it panned out. The Seagulls after an even first Q went beresk, kicking 5,4 and 6 goals to go to the easiest of easy,easy wins 17.21.123 to a lowly, lamentable 8.6.54
Another winner in Benny Poole brings up the double calico`s for one of the few times in the match
For the 2nd time in two weeks we kicked 8.6.54 our lowest score of the year but this time we surpassed ourselves by suffering our biggest beating of the year, going down by 69 points. With 4 goals from direct turnovers of kick in`s inside the 50, misdirected kicks, dropped sitters, the centre in disarray and the white flag flying high in the last Q, it was a totally unacceptable YCW performance.
Three who could hold their heads up were Ducky who gave it his all, touching the ball 32 times, Pooley, who ran and ran, Steve Roberts one of the few to give us drive, along the way troubling Mr Strico 28 times. A good few of the rest need to take a good hard look at their performance and themselves !!
