Grand Final Day 2009

This Sunday brings and end to season 2009 in what has been a great year for the club

Our Under 18 meet Mornington in the Under 18 Grand Final for the fourth time this year hoping to make it a clean sweep and go thru the season undefeated a feat only accomplished by the 1976 under 17 side. As the sides in the last 2 games have  only been separated by a total of  3 points another  down to the wire , drag em out, last man standing affair can be expected due to the evenness of the sides.

Coach Mather`s had this to say to Rocky’s Roundup about his thoughts on the game :

“For the third year in a row, we face off against the Dogs in the Grand Final. However past history or current win loss ratios’ mean nothing. The team who will be successful on Sunday will be the team that executes best under pressure, maintains their structures and discipline, as well as being prepared to pressure their opponents for the entire game. Hopefully that team is us.”

Well said Coach and so say all of us !!

In the second game Coach Schneider’s Scintillating Seconds come up against the Seaford Unit coming off a good win over Eady/Asp. With the score at one all for the year this promises to be another hard fought battle for supremacy. Nick had this to say about the Teams prospects in the big one:

…“No matter what happens this weekend, win, lose or draw I’m extremely proud of what my boys have achieved this season. The players have worked extremely hard to play unselfish football and follow a game plan to helpthe team achieve success. I have the utmost faith in this group of players and I’m very confident that if they give 100% on Sunday the best team will prevail.”

Get down to Frankston Park and help Scott and Nick and their boys bring home the Bacon !!
