Another sojourn to the Park, an even earlier early morning tippler with the denizens of the grandstand as they headed off to row 20, seats 69-72 for a quick nap before the game after a heavy night out on the foreshore park benches..

Feeling quietly confident of success, since all our teams had had a fantastic year and our Magoos and Grass cutters had taken all before them in the finals I felt that a little show of arrogance was allowable as I marched over to the change rooms singing the Stonecat theme song …all good things seemed to be before us ..let the games begin..

How wrong I was..First lulled in to a false sense of security by Coach Mathers boys doing a number on Mornington for 3Qs then cataclysmically crushed by an abysmal last 20 mins.

Coach Mathers and I cried together..tears rolling down his beard….I was distraught..

But wait all would be redeemed by Seans scintillating seconds as they also raced to a commanding 3Q lead against The Bonbeach Sharks….Justice would prevail!!

 But the knife was plunged in again and cruelly twisted as the Magoos expired unable to cope with the wind and the Sharks resurgence!!

The Banner goes up to celebrate Brendan Longs 300th game in the black & gold..

 Two down and only one to go last roll of the dice….surely the football gods would look down on us favourably not to be.. Beaten by a better side in the year of the Tiger!!

Bereft of any hope…I headed of to the foreshore with my new friends!!

My best in a very ordinary side Andy and Dale solid in a defence otherwise full of holes and Glenn the only forward to worry the Tigers defence..!!!

 On reflection I wondered where it all went wrong..certainly it was always going to be hard when the Duck broke down, but then it was for mine even more so with the way things panned out..or as the Bard might have said;

Ada, Zannon..wherefore art tho Ada and Zannon ??

Oh to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous selection

Alas poor Ada and Zannon I knew them well!!…….But Im no expert !!

Being the last Rockys roundabout for the year Id like to thank Ando for his help and you all for accepting the invasion of your privacy….I hope you enjoyed my ramblings and I trust I havent rubbed anyone up the wrong way ..Ill leave that to Rebecca!!

Rockys $600 Super Rollcall

The fat lady sang her last notes on Thursday to the applause of an enthusiastic audience finishing the 75 night of training. After rechecking the results and the rule book the Judges determined Red team to be the winner of the inaugural $600 tipper for 2007

The result is final and no discussions/appeals or winging will be entered in to!! Payout Saturday ..
