Bulls take on Stone Cat Seniors at Frankston Park with the others at Karingal

A terrible night was had by all at Frankston Park as the rain poured down for the whole game and this combined with the sub standard/poor ground lighting made it nigh impossible to see the action in any detail from the centre line to the action at the goals…Big upgrade needed if night games at the Park are to prove a success.

Notwithstanding the conditions, the game was a success with a hard fought even contest up to 3/4 time, with the teams within a kick -or 2- for the first 75 minutes. After the orange break however, the boys moved up a cog and kicked 5 goals to 1 in the last Q, going on to win easily by 23 pts. My best, when I happened to catch some play in the gloom in the last Q was Chappy, with another 3 goals, on a wet night not favouring marking performances and a great work ethic in chasing down his opponents when the ball was in the oppositions control.

Also good to see Hackett back to some form and Lewis Roberts and Ryse Johnson really finding their straps.. On a sour note, quadriceps and hamstring injuries to more of our smalls in Darren Mizzi and Josh Exner…back in his first game …were not welcome additions to our ever increasing list of walking wounded.

The seconds also had a hard fight on their hands but were able to keep control at all times and come out easy winners ..great to see Turbo have one of his best games and almost slot some majors.. Some old boys showed some great form also and Keily and The Ulmer with 5 scintillating goals are near certainties to return to the seniors and it wouldn’t surprise me if Zannon got a early recall after displaying his hard hitting game of old and 4 goals to boot !!
