ABOUT

From playing in an under 18 final series in 2004 to a Senior Grand Final in 2005 has been a rapid learning curve for the skillful youngster who can play forward or back. Has a great turn of speed and is a great mark who loves to hang a specky.
Only 18 years old, this year should find him consolidating his position in the senior side as he benefits from his finals experience….. What I said in 2005!

Played the first ½ of season 2006 in the seniors in backline positions not suited to his flair, lost favour with the Coach and spent the remainder of the season in the reserves..

Playing in the reserves in forward positions more suited to his speed and ball getting skills he blitzed the field in the remaining 11 games to win the club reserve B&F, along the way beating MPNFL B&F winner Sean Hegarty..

Has had a good preseason in the start up to 2007 and has shown form in all the practice games..Will do well…What I said preseason !!

Unfortunately didn’t catch the Senior selectors eyes except for one game in round 10 after which he was dropped to the reserves again for the rest of the season. The lack of opportunity given him was difficult to fathom given the spectacular year he was having in the Reserves, taking all before him, polling in15 games and winning the Reserve B & F by a landslide 37 pts from second place getter Brendan Casper.

One again he also beat the 2007 dual MPNFL Reserve B& F Sean Hegarty, who finished third 40 pts adrift in the local count. Perhaps perceived by some to lack some pace for Senior football, its difficult to see why Andrew doesn’t get more ground time given the ability he shows at reserve level..

Perhaps 2008 will see this great little ball handler have his abilities recognized and force his way in to a permanent senior position..
