Saturday night saw the end of over two years work with the announcement of the final selection for the YCW Football Club Team of the Half Century. Starting with input from supporters and members as to who should be considered for inclusion, further stimulus was given to the process by the submission of Teams considered worthy by ex players and supporters from all eras of the club.
Eight months ago letters were sent to all members requesting nomination of players for the team and a 5 member committee including Josh Kendall, John Rowe, Brendan Lacy, John Coburn and Rocky Hardstone was set up to select the team. Over 230 people were on hand at the Frankston RSL to witness the unveiling of the team and the launching of `We Come From Jubilee Park` the History of the YCW Football Club 1959-2009 by Ian Purchase.
