Well ..up and about at 8 am ..early enough to catch the denizens of the Grandstand having an early morning heart starter before wending their way off to Morning Matins..I assume..but not early enough to beat the man on the gate……..

Morning preparation’s went off without a hitch..the boys fully focused and committed to repeating what they had dispensed to the Bulldogs in their last meeting. A great game ensued with the lead back and forth for 3/4 Q but our superiority prevailed in the last and we went on to our 15 win in a row and a spot in the Grand Final…I actually saw Coach Mather’s smile..I think. Remember cream always rises..I’m excited !!

Then it was on to Seans studiously selected seconds handpicked to overturn the smacking handed out last meeting by the Tigers and march in to the Grand Final….The best laid plans of mice and men etc, etc fell afowl however, and a 3/4 Q scoreline of 6.9.45 them..2.10.22 us..told it all….. ie mothballs for the Magoos…..but wait..

A 3/4Q time rousing speech and a Sean prayer to the football gods later.. and it was all over, after a mark and goal by God himself followed by similar from Nick and Steve. Unbelievable, but nothing less than you would expect from this exciting side..Im excited !!

After the euphoria of the Dew-cutters and Magoo’s victories it seemed that nothing was going to stop us getting a clean sweep…..preparation perfect….motivation 100% ..but not enough it seemed..too many players gone missing and a replay of last years 1st semi..nothing learnt ?. ..Dear Mom used to say..If you can’t say anything nice..don’t say anything…!!…..OK
