FRANKSTON YCW's latest recruit comes with big wraps as the Stonecats look to continue their dominance of peninsula football. Footscray VFL-listed Josh Patullo (200cm) will play with the Stonecats this year when he's not with the Doggies.
He will be the third Footscray VFL player to use YCW as a home club, along with Bundy Barry and Anthony Bruhn, Angus Wright, is training with Footscray. Bundy Barry, Bruhny and young Angus Wright just rave about him (Patullo), Frankston YCW recruiting manager Andrew Schneider said. He was looking for a club so we found him. He just gives a bit extra man power up forward and in the ruck.
Patullo, originally from Lang Lang, won Gippsland Powers best and fairest and also made the TAC Cup team of the year in 2016. YCWs big man stocks are looking good.
Champion ruckman Ash Eames is playing again on a 12-game contract, while young tall Macklin Raine has signed with the Frankston Dolphins but YCW will be his home club. Frankston YCW has several other players at the Dolphins, with forward Kevin Lylak signing last Thursday night and joining Matt La Fontaine, Lachie Williams and Jake Lovett on the list. Daniel Hughes and Luke Paynter are training at Frankston. YCs other ket recruit is Port Melbourne VFL forward Khan Haretuku.
The Stonecats only loss appears to be six-time premiership star Tony Lester, who has retired.
