A tough assignment for round 4 against the League’s in form team Pines. Both teams were undefeated and it was a battle for top spot on the ladder.
The start of the game was fiery and was no place for the faint hearted as we drew first blood with a goal early from Luke Paynter but Pines answered quickly, at quarter time we led by 11.
The 2nd quarter was a real slog as we were kicking against the slight breeze with Mincho kicking the only goal for the quarter, Matty Lafontaine was playing a great game from the wing and also swinging into the forward line and BJ and Onger were well on top of the Pines big guns down forward.
The 3rd quarter saw wayward kicking with the breeze 1 goal 5 behinds allowed Pines right back into the contest and they had momentum at the break and our lead was cut to just 10 points.
Kicking into the breeze in the last quarter our boys lifted the tempo and with some great work from Eamsey and Knackers in defence and Kyle Hutchison in the forward line we were able to run away with a 27 Point victory.
A great effort on a special day celebrating the milestones of Tony Lester (250) Kyle Hutchison (150) and Kevin Lylak (100).

Unfortunately the Reserves team went down to a better and more determined Pines side at home on Saturday.
Pines were stronger in the contests all day and finished off when it counted. Even though we had plenty of opportunities to overrun Pines, basic mistakes and missed scoring opportunities let us down.
Out of what was a disappointing day we still had some really good performances from Sammy Pickess, Siggy, Steve O’Donnell, Kingy, Buttsy and Trent.
I have no doubt the boys can overcome last week and come our winners this week against Edi/As on Saturday.

Last week we came up against Pines, and after finally getting off to a good start in the first quarter, the A grade girls managed to secure a win! The group finally clicked and it flowed very well in transition from defence to the attacking end. Well done to the girls from the Pines who fought hard to the end. BOC goes to Bri whose defensive pressure and second efforts resulted in some amazing turnovers.
The B grade team have started the season with 4 wins in yet another absolute team effort. The team buzz on and around the court makes it such a great place to be and playing netball so much more fun. BOC this week goes to captain courageous Katie Schneider for keeping her player out of the game. Next week is sure to be a ripper when we take on top of the ladder - Edi Asp.
C grade was another fantastic team effort with everyone playing their pat. In the goal ring accuracy was very high and if they didn't drop we fought hard for the rebounds. Ring defenders made Pines earn absolutely everything, reading the play beautifully with great foot work to get around the goalers. BOC goes to Loz Treacey for running her butt off all game! Congrats to Renee 'Bibsy' Drummond and partner Kevin on the safe arrival of gorgeous Chevy.
D grade had an amazing win with defenders. Sophie and Loz only letting Pines score 1 goal the whole game. Some great combinations in the ring with Rachael and Grace rotating really well. BOC goes to Abby for stepping up in centre and backing up everyone on court!
