First things first big shoutout to Katie S & everyone else involved in the running of our always loved Ladies Day. It was a huge success and daaaamn girls you all looked gorgeous!

This week on the court it wasn't our D girls day with a 26-32 loss, our fitness & drive for the ball maybe letting us down. Not to worry with our best on Sophie Damm & Tyler B's numerous intercepts, rebounds & defensive pressure coupled with Nicky in centre connecting all the dots there is a lot to love about this team. A few things at training & we will definitely have them next time!

Langy really gave our C girls a run for our money in the first quarter, doubling our score, but with a few tweaks & a team chat we came back firing, Kirsty K & best on Max Barry keeping them to only 2 goals in the 2nd quarter with solid pressure & plenty of tips & taps. From there the girls just ran with it coming away with a 47-27 win.

Another amazing B grade 74-44 win with just an all round team effort. These B girls are all so accountable for their game, implementing their training into their game and obviously with successful results. A day for the defenders with best on to KP for her hands over and cutting off the drives.

Our A girls really needing a win this week after a tough start of season lineup - they did just that with a 49-37 win. Some of the best linking from the defenders to goalers seen this year to thank and an amazing attacking game from best on Brooke C.

Love your work girls, GO STONEKITTENS

It was a top of the table clash for the 19s and with 8 players playing VFL, 1s or 2s we were in for our toughest day so far and the boys brought home the bacon.

Langwarrin turned up with the credentials to challenge and they did but our ever ready mids and defenders kept them at bay early with Mac “Iron Fist” Hura showing what commitment to the ball means. Langwarrin and height, speed outside and plenty of go but we stood firm to lead by a goal at the first change although against a tricky wind.

We got our forward motors running early in the 2nd to take control but only just with the “NOB” goaling from centre wing whilst we continued to get repeat inside 50s probably without the return we were looking for.  Great commitment to guarding the Langwarrin kick ins caused them to undertake some exciting play ons from FB only to be turned over in the midfield.

A lacklustre 3rd quarter, probably due to our dour defence gave us a 15 point lead, should’ve been over 3 goals after the most dubious of goals was awarded to Langwarrin; giving them impetus to press harder for little return.

We steadied and pushed on in the last to win 59-30.  A good result.

No time for complacency approaching the half way mark.  Other teams will get stronger whereas we can only improve on what we have – and shall do so!!!
