The Scoreboard says it all..a resounding 21 point win the Stonecats
Mather’s Marvels started off full of confidence in their game against the Dog unders having put them back in their kennel twice in the H & A`s so all was ready, steady, go for a quick trip to the GF as the ball was bounced.
Best on ground, here, there, everywhere David Bodley takes another great grab !!
The first Q was reasonably even with poor kicking putting us 9 pts adrift at the short break but all hell broke out in the 2nd Q where our inability to man up, poor kicking and softness at the ball let the Dogs loose and in an avalanche of ball and not stop aggression they kicked 7 goals to our solitary twin calico to put the game beyond doubt and out of our grasp…… or so the crowd thought..

Coach Mather’s in a awe inspiring 1/2 time speech, that would have done `Newt Rockney` proud put it to the boys that the team,the supporters and Stonecat pride needed someone to stand up and take the game by the scruff of the neck and turn it around if all our hard work over the last 8 months was to stand for something..

Turn it around the boys did, for in what has to be one of the best quarters put on by a Stonecat dewcutter side all the boys stood up for Coach Mather’s and the Club and commenced to tear the heart out of the opposition with a a 9 goal to one 3rd quarter coming in to the long break 5 points in front a..mammoth 8 goal turnaround..

Any hope the Bulldog players/supporters had of resurecting the game in the last quater faded as soon as the siren sounded as the Marvels resumed their attack keeping the dogs scoreless, and putting on another 3goals for a solid 21 pt win….
The brilliant 3rd Q resurgence to win by 20 pts, from a game that for all intent dead and buried at half time was brought about by determination, commitment, pride and mateship and is a lesson that could well be learnt by more senior members of this club….Bring on the GF…..
